Changing the oil in the automatic transmission

What is included in the service:

• Draining used oil from the automatic transmission
• Transmission fluid replacement
• Automatic transmission filter replacement (depending on transmission design)
• Cleaning the pan and magnets
• Pan gasket replacement
• Checking oil level and temperature
• Leakage check after replacement

When replacement is required:

• Scheduled mileage or time limit has been reached
• Jerking or delays when shifting gears
• Transmission overheating
• Darkening or burning smell of the oil
• Transmission fluid leakage
• After purchasing a used vehicle

Service intervals: every 50,000–70,000 km (partial intermediate replacement is possible every 30,000–40,000 km).
Transmission oil life is significantly reduced under peak loads and extreme ambient temperatures.
Unscheduled replacement: if jerking is felt during shifting, loss of AT sealing, or oil leaks occur.
Consequences of failing to meet the service schedule: damage to the hydraulic unit and clutch plates, loss of driving smoothness. Overhaul of the automatic transmission.
